I first met Mr Britton 7 years ago following a meniscus tear, I was impressed with his treatment and vowed to stick with him should I need surgery in future as I felt I trusted him and his opinion. I informed my GP to refer me to see Mr Britton 7 years later when I felt it was time to address my diminished lifestyle due to knee pain. My GP informed me, that in her opinion, Mr Britton was a good choice. Mr Britton is not only a fantastic surgeon but he is also a very good listener, has an excellent bedside manner and I felt 100% at ease in his care. At the initial consultation I felt he clearly communicated my options to think about regarding options for surgery or to postpone having surgery if I felt I should. Mr Britton gave me clear advice which was communicated in a manner a non-medical person could understand and links to websites for me to explore the operation/process and post surgery journey in my own time. On the day of the operation I was very impressed by his professionalism and attention to detail when I was being checked in pre-theatre. On the evening of my surgery Mr Britton took the time to visit me to check everything was okay with me. I felt fully informed of my likely prognosis for my knee and long term health as he clearly communicated the process and outcomes/scenarios at both the initial consultation but also at my 6 week post surgery check up. He answered all of my many questions honestly and in a friendly and professional manner. Mr Britton is a very nice guy as well as an excellent surgeon, I am extremely happy with my surgery, stay at the Nuffield in York and post surgery progress. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mr Britton.

Mr Britton came across as a very caring man he made me feel totally at ease and l had every confidence in him as it is a big thing in your life to go through surgery as l have never had major surgery in my 72 years. I was referred to Mr Britton as a NHS patient to have a total knee replacement operation. Mr Britton's assessment of my condition was very thorough and he was very clear on why the operation was needed, and what I could expect. I was very confident in Mr Britton and his team and that the operation would go successfully. The operation was successful and the post operation care has been equally thorough.

Mr Edward Britton operated on me to replace both hips, seven months apart and I would recommend to anyone without the slightest hesitation. He is a very skilful, thorough and caring man. Through both my operations and aftercare I have had total confidence in him and his team. I can't praise him highly enough. Thank you Mr Britton, you are a Gentleman.

Very Caring and supportive all through my treatment. Dr Britton recommended great equipment for me to use alongside my injury which helped me loads to recover. I felt as though he always listened carefully and always had time to speak me through everything.
